Brand New Kitchen at Les Vents Bleus!
We're so excited about our brand new kitchen that we thought it deserved its own news slot. Modern, chic, efficient and with all mod cons, it's better than our kitchen at home!
Presqui'il de Crozon - What's New
Pont de Terenez
Probably the first thing you’ll notice if entering the Presqu’il de Crozon via the Terenez bridge crossing, is that the old suspension bridge to the left of the new one is rapidly disappearing! Work is underway to remove the old bridge which was first built in 1951 and which has been closed since the spectacular new suspension bridge was launched two years ago. When we visited the Presqu’ile in June, the suspension cords holding up the old bridge were still there, but the concrete road was being dismantled and there was a 100ft gap between the two roads. It is expected to take many more months to completely remove the old bridge.
The new bridge cost 35 million euros to construct and is a huge improvement on the old one and has won a World Infrastructure Award. It is well worth stopping your journey to take a closer look. You can park the car on either side of the bridge and walk across a walkway for some amazing views of the river below.
New Promenade for Morgat
Since Victorian times the picturesque village of Morgat has been a hugely popular place for a stroll along the seafront and now a brand new sea wall and promenade with raised walkway is well underway, complete with Mediterranean plant beds, a new road system and a large piazza area outside Les Flots restaurant. There is also a good, though pricey supermarket set back from the town centre.
The new space and street layout will enhance the staging of the regular Mardi Morgat concerts and night market, which take place every Tuesday from the second week of July through to the third week of August.
New Creperie in Roscanvel
Great news! The brand new Ty Billig creperie has opened in Roscanvel this summer, opposite the church and the village green. It's just a 10 minute walk from Les Vents Bleus in a beautiful setting wth a large balcony and terrace plus children's play area in the garden below. It offers a selection of sweet and savoury crepes, plus steak and salads, at very reasonable prices. We had an excellent meal there in July and some of our guests have visited several times during their holiday, so why not pay it a visit?
